PAM - Power Assisted Micro-Manipulation

Treatment with PAM

PAMM

We are able to offer treatments using the PAM machine (Mark 3). PAM (or PAMM) stands for Power Assisted Micro-Manipulaiton: which is also sometimes referred to as "Pneumatic Assisted Micro Manipulation" or "TAMARS: Technology Assisted Micro-manipulation and Reflex Stimulation".

PAMM Machine

We find the PAMM machine extremely effective in treating the thoracic spine (the part of the spine that the ribs are attached to). We use the machine in combination with our normal treatment techniques, which include mobilisation, manipulation, soft tissue techniques (massage) and muscle stimulation. The repetitive tiny manipulations achievable with the machine allow a stiff thoracic spine to be gently mobilised, and after a few sessions the increased mobility is often noticable. We give our patients thoracic spine exercises to help them to keep and improve this new found flexibility in the thoracic spine.
